HOW DOES IT WORK

Operations & Adjustments

Door must be closed.

Step 1 - Insert the enclosed tool into the top of the hinge turning clockwise in full turn increments, to adjust the closing speed. Adjust the top hinge first, then adjust the bottom hinge in the same amount as the top hinge (use the gauge on the tool to ensure equal adjustment). Continue adjusting each hinge equally until the desired closing speed is achieved. Once adjusted as desired, adjust the hydraulic (see Step 2).

Step 2 - To adjust the locking speed, insert the adjustment tool into the bottom of the hinge turning counterclockwise in half turn increments until the desired locking speed is reached. Adjust all hinges equally.

Note: Both hydraulic hinges should be adjusted as close to the same as possible in order to provide equal distribution of function.

Installation Instructions

Installation is simple and is similar to regular door hinges. Packaged as a set of either (2) hydraulic hinges or (3) - 2 hydraulic and 1 dummy hinge, depending on the size and weight of the door for right or left opening. Doors over 90 pounds may require 3 hinges.

The AlRex stainless steel hydraulic hinge is designed to be maintenance free and provides multiple functions:

1. Automatic stop function when opened beyond 85 degrees with closing and locking (damping) speed control.

2. Automatic closing from 170 degrees with adjustable closing and locking (damping) speed.

Weather stripping, carpet drag, wind, drafts and twisted/misaligned doors or frames may affect performance.
